How to Shop Like a Health Nut (The Easy Way)

We’ve got some tips from the Rogers County Health Department to keep you buying healthy food at the grocery store.

Stick to the perimeter of the store. Fruits, veggies, fish, lean meats, dairy, and eggs are on the outer edges. Oreos are not, unfortunately.

Stock up on healthy fats and whole grains like avocados, nuts, and wheat, oat, barley or other grand breads and cereals.

Make a menu and grocery list before shopping: this cuts down on temptation and overspending.

Include kids on decisions and choices. Give two healthy options to choose from. Ask them to pick something new to try on the produce aisle.

(And hey, a few Oreos won’t kill you….)
