Claremore Teachers Receive Grants…and Donuts!

The Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) presented grants to area schools on Thursday, May 5, 2016, by visiting the school sites receiving funding with balloons and donuts in tow.

“This is our favorite time of year,” stated Amy Evans, CPSF Executive Director. “This is why we raise monies throughout the school year, so we can help teachers with specific needs that they don’t have the funding for.”

Teachers throughout the district submitted grants requesting funds to support a need they might have for the upcoming school year. The CPSF allocations committee reviewed these grants and awarded fourteen grants totaling more than $26,000 to six different school sites benefitting grade school through high school students and teachers.

Since 1988, the Foundation has awarded more than $1,500,000 in grants to teachers and school sites. CPSF relies on donations from individuals and businesses to pursue its mission. The Foundation began its CPSF Partner program this year which allows businesses to partner with the Foundation. The 2015-16 Partners are: Taylor, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey & Russell; Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold; Hillcrest Hospital – Claremore; Service King; CF Industries; Pelco Structural, LLC; RCB Bank; Bill and Phyllis Snyder; Nees Realty and Whataburger. Anyone interested in partnering with the Foundation may contact the Foundation office at 918-923-4308. The 2016-17 Partner program will begin July 1.

The next Grant Patrol will take place in December of 2016, so if you drive up to a school and see the red and white Grant Patrol signs, you can celebrate in knowing your school is striving to “enrich the quality of education in the Claremore Public Schools.”
