Claremore Public Schools Foundation is Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence

Current and former trustees and supporters of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation invite the public to join them in celebrating 30 years of enriching the quality of public education in the Claremore Public Schools.

In 1988, a group of community leaders, inspired by Frank and Ludmila Robson, began a movement to enhance educational opportunities to the students of Claremore Public Schools. The vision of the founders to support academic excellence and the educational future of our children resulted in the creation of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF).  The mission of CPSF – to enrich the quality of education in the Claremore Public Schools – continues today.

Since its inception, CPSF has worked to provide educational enhancements that create excitement for learning and generate enthusiasm for teaching.  Foundation grants have been awarded for everything from library books to egg incubators; knights in shining armor to Kindles; smartboards and document cameras to drums and guitars; field trips to art supplies.  Over the last 30 years, the CPSF has awarded over $1,670,000 in grants to teachers and school sites.  Grants touch virtually every child in the school district.

CPSF is celebrating this milestone with a Celebration of Excellence Dinner on October 9, 2018.  Held in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on the campus of Rogers State University, the evening will begin with a reception, including hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, with an opportunity to explore recent grant projects beginning at 6 p.m.  During this time, guests will have hands-on experiences with grant projects and learn from teachers how these items impact their classrooms. Dinner will follow, highlighted by remarks from the Honorable C. Darnell Jones II, a 1968 Claremore graduate and inductee into the CPSF Hall of Fame.
