Sarkeys Foundation Pays Off Current Mortgage for William W. Barnes Children’s Advocacy Center

The William W. Barnes Children’s Advocacy Center Board of Directors and staff acknowledges the Sarkeys Foundation for their financial support, allowing them to make their current facility a permanent home located at 213 E. Patti Page Blvd.

The Sarkeys Foundation awards grants to nonprofits who are committed to improving the quality of life in Oklahoma.  In December 2018, the foundation met with the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) to tour the facility and learn more about all the center offers to Rogers, Mayes and Craig Counties. The Sarkeys Foundation chose the CAC as a grant recipient for 2019, receiving $150,000 to pay off the mortgage for their current facility.

“We are so grateful for this generous gift from the Sarkeys Foundation,” Holly Webb, the Center’s Executive Director said. “The generosity of the grant will allow financial allocations to further the mission and directly impact those that the CAC serves.”

The CAC mission is to reduce trauma to child abuse victims in Rogers, Mayes and Craig Counties. The CAC is a Nationally Accredited, United Way Agency that provides a coordinated, professional, multidisciplinary team approach with assessment, treatment, education and support services in a safe, child-friendly environment.  The Center is one of the few in the state providing no cost, on-site counseling for clients served.  Each year, the Center provides services to nearly 400 children in the 12th Judicial District.
