Looking at the events planned for September, it makes my heart happy to see all the activities. September is packed full of things to do and I know you are probably ready to get out, especially since the kids have started school. With the cooler weather, take advantage of the bike trails, walking at the lake or RSU’s Nature Reserve, and having a bonfire with your family and friends. You can even hit the greens at Heritage Hills Golf Course. These are the perfect escapes before winter hits and we are shut in from cold weather.

Yes, the 106th annual Rogers County Fair is still happening, but with modifications. Social distancing and masks will be highly encouraged. This long-running tradition will be held September 17-20 at the Claremore Expo. Check out the website for more information!

Celebrate fall with pumpkins, hayrides and harvest educational activities at the Shepherd’s Cross pumpkin festival, September 22 – November 7! Shepherd’s Cross is an authentic working farm in Claremore. Come out and select a pumpkin from truckloads available in all shapes and sizes at the Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross. Guests can also take home straw bales and corn stalks for fall decorating. At this annual pumpkin festival, walk the hay maze, create a scarecrow, take a hayride, pet the animals in the petting zoo and make memories. Enjoy lots of fun games and activities for the whole family, farm demos, and festive fall storytime while celebrating the harvest season.
Food Truck Thursday will be held September 24 in historic downtown Claremore. Enjoy food, shopping, music, a free kids zone, and more from 6-9p. Admission is free.
On September 26, Nerd Alert Events is bringing to Claremore ROUTE 66 CON on at The Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center at Rogers State University. It will be PACKED with comics, collectibles, and amazing artists. Bring your trades. Stay for the costume contest.
Remember, the Rogers County Farmers Market is open each Saturday through October in Lynn Riggs Park from 7a – 11a.
