The Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce recently awarded $2,000 in scholarships to local students. Five students received college funding in either $500 or $250 increments, as well as a custom plaque.

“We are so honored to be able to help our local students with their college plans each year,” said Barby Myers, Chamber President & CEO. “Even in the midst of a pandemic, it was a pleasure to meet all of these students and see how excited they are for the next chapter in their lives, even though it looks a little different now.”

This year’s winners are Cloe Dennis (Rogers State University), Isabella Egleston (Rockhurst University), Malarie Golbek (Oklahoma State University), Austin Haddock (Oklahoma State University), and Emily Holmes (University of Central Oklahoma).

“We wouldn’t be able to provide these scholarships without the support of our generous sponsors,” said Myers. “This year, we would like to thank Baker Hughes, Melton Sales, Oklahoma Natural Gas, BancFirst, and The Seifried Group. Additionally, we would like to thank the RSU Foundation, which has graciously offered to match Cloe’s scholarship.”

Chamber Leadership Scholarship applications are available each year and are typically due in April. Winners are chosen by a scholarship committee using a blind method.
